Updating

To update, run the setup of the newer release on the same server. Your settings and data are kept.

Finding out about new versions​

When you sign in to the web console, the system checks for updates automatically and lets you know if a new version is available. To check manually, use About in the user menu.

What the setup does​

  1. Stops the Nascella.Vpn.Web and Nascella.Vpn.WebApi services.
  2. Replaces the program files. Configuration files (appsettings*.json) and the database are not touched.
  3. Installs a newer .NET runtime if the release needs one.
  4. Starts both services again.

Steps​

  1. Back up the database (recommended before every update).
  2. Right-click the new setup file and choose Run as administrator.
  3. Follow the wizard and click Finish.
  4. Open the web console and check the version number.
Release numbers

Releases are numbered by date, for example 2026.09.22.1 (year.month.day.build).
